Nothing evokes fond memories more than the smell of cookies baking in the oven. If you think of your favorite childhood memories I bet you that it quiet possibly involved cookies. You more than likely can remember what they were and where you were when you ate them. I remember waking up from a nap to the smell of cookies baking when I was 6 or 7 years old and My big sister would be baking oatmeal cookies. Chris’ first words included cookie and what precious memories I have of sitting with little boys eating cookies and drinking milk when they woke from their naps. The smell of cookies hot out of the oven remind me of the school bus dropping off a yard full of boys in the afternoon and nothing can say ‘ Welcome Home’ like a cookie sheet of warm cookies and a tall glass of milk. The holidays haven’t started at our house till the first batch of cut out sugar cookies have been iced. Santa couldn’t fly that long night without the plate of stars and Christmas socks we always left him.
There are days when I long to bake cookies while my boys nap, other days I miss my Big Sister baking cookies while I nap.
I am longing for a nap and good cookies with my sisters and children.
Robbie, Terri and Little ME.

Awww… sometimes a smell like a cookie makes my heart ache to have my children back home and little again! Last night my little Mai and Jax spent the night and I woke at 2:30am to Mai wanting to crawl in bed. She isn’t good at sharing a bed but we snuggled all night and it brought back memories of my kids doing just that! I guess I felt the same as you today because I decided to try my hand today at cookie balls!! If they turn out, me and little Miss Mai will have to have a day making them and we just might invite her momma!

Some days something in the air causes me to miss all the sweet times of little ones. Yes even with both of them in bed in the middle of the night.
